hello after a long long time.

Sorry for not blogging for such a long time!

Haha... Well, today went to the biopolis Proteos for IMCB Attachment
It was such a froggy day.
We dissected frogs to get the eggs out...
Involved some gruesome squeezing of the frog to "force the eggs"out.
Yikes.
It's kinda sick cos Du Jing and I actually squashed some of the eggs during the "de-jellifying" and separation process, so the yoke was ozzing out and all. But we are now expert frog egg separaters, it's a tricky job mind you, gotta grab the brunch and break off the egg, and they are so tiny and sticky!

tiny is an understatement.
We had to do everything under the microscope, and now I am having an eye-sore.
Funny thing is frog eggs are half black and half white, something I didn't know!

Well, it was, by any standard, a fun day for Jay, Kenrick, Du Jing and me. It was funny to see everyone in Lab coats, and we made friends with some ppl from other schools like RJC, ACJC...
It was boring at first during the safety briefing, what with mortars exploding and fires and biohazards blah blah blah.
It's so shocking how well guarded the place is!
CCTV cameras everywhere, and you need a pass (issued to us) to get everywhere, even to operate the lifts!!
We even found this special dark room accessible only through this weird dome that stuck out through the corridor.
It was this black dome thing with revolvable (is there such a word?) walls that you have to step into, and then turn the walls to reveal a room. (apparently, it's because the room is a dark room that can't be exposed to light, therefore the special entry)
Can't count the number of times we spastically went in and out of the special room (illegally). And Jay always ends up trapping us in by stopping the walls and then running off to a corner to "boo" us -_-"

Lunch was particularly hilarious, and with our enormous appetites, each of us had a main course, and we still went for more prata. Oh my, were they delicious! Lol... we promised to eat it the next two days! Too bad it's located at such a Ulu place as Buona Vista, or I would have considered eating prata for breakfast everyday.

Yeah, then we sort of hunted for Coffe Latte, but decided to have the Hip-hop jelly ice-cream instead.
And here's the hilarious part.
We decided to take a sit while having our ice-cream at this Jap resturaunt, when to our horror, this waitress came out and handed us the menu. So we were like oh no... so pai seh to leave now, and we were contemplating our escape and delaying our order but decided in the end to call tofu.

:Can we have the Agatashi Tofu please?
: Yes. Anything else?
:Er... no.. yeah that's all
: No? (incredously) nothing?
:No.
:No? No drinks?
No.
:Nothing?
: Uer...yeah *nervous laugh* we have small appetites you see, the tofu is quite enough.

hahaha... the waitress was so shocked.
So it was tofu + ice-cream for us.
But the tofu was nice tho, and we decided to have jap food tomorrow, making a mental note to be sure not to "take a sit" in the french restaurant opposite tomorrow. Totally funny.

We spent the day torturing tadpoles and performing micro-injection on tadpole eggs and some disgusting stuff with frogs. No, no, we didn't kiss frogs though! Haha.

So 2 things I brought back home today, other than vivid images of squirming frogs and sore eyes:
1) Never become a female frog in a laboratory.

cos you get "opened up" (surgery to extract eggs from ovaries) about once every fortnight in your life spent in tanks 20cmX10cm long feeding on bloodworms. Betteryet, you'll get squeezed and pressed to force the eggs out of you when you can't lay eggs fast enough.

2) Never, never become a male frog in a laboratory.

cos you get "sacrificed" whenever they need to do in Vitro fertillization. Simply, you are opened up so that your testes can be "harvested."(the testes look like yellowish white kidney beans)
And you are uncerimoniously disposed of into a bag printed "BIOHAZARD" and it's to the incinerator for you.
(p.s. the testes is MASHED up thereafter[resembles tartar sauce], to release the sperms!)

MEGA EWW...

Looking forward to tomorrow, where we plan to further explore the Proteos block.

Ribbit.
