I tell you my friends, we are living in the past,
all of us!

Sight enabled by light waves deflected or emitted by surrounding objects require time to travel, as do sound waves.
This means that all that we see and hear- infomation gathered by our senses- are things of the past. Our reactions are all in response to things of the past.

Yes yes, revelation of the day, we are all living in the past!

Physics makes the world beautiful...

As Dory the fish would put it:
"just keep swimming, just keep swimming,
just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
It helps to be slightly dory-brainless sometimes...
to un-thinkingly, un-questioningly run the race of life.

Happy Piggly new year to everyone out there!

It has been a hectic 5-day break for me.
lol, well, I have got a total of 13 uncles and 12 aunties, so it's been one house after another!

It got really funny after a while, because we realised that our madarin-orange supply was diminishing!
Somehow, we were leaving behind oranges everywhere we went, so it wasn't long before my mum looked into the "madarin-orange" bag (which happened to be orange =P) and exclaimed:"where did all the oranges go?!"
it was only after some really laborious retrospection that we realised we had lost about 27 oranges in 2 days (starting off with 32, and ending with only 5) I spent half the rest of the time repressing laughter, it was so hilarious watching my mum fret about having 5 oranges left, and how we were going to bai nian with an odd number of oranges!

Visiting my relatives turned out to be rewarding for me, I made it a point to keep away from my handphone, and MSN- was keen on making the 5 day holiday a totally family thing as far as possible.
Afterall, it isn't everyday that I get to be with my family. It's sad when I think about it.
I spend only about 11 hours, out of the 24 hours in a day that I have, at home,
out of which I spend 6 hours sleeping, and more than half of the rest of the time on the computer. I get to see my dad only about 2 hours everyday, my mum 6 hours a day, my brother 4 hours a day, and my sister 7 hours a day.
That, compared to the 8 hours I get to see the class whiteboard everyday, is worrying. It used not to matter so much to me, until that one civics lesson where Mr Boy said something that got me thinking: "You are dispensible to the world, but not dispensible to your family." So, top on my new year resolution for 2007- to put my family before all else.

I guess I have reached a stage where I begin worrying my hair off about where I want to be when I grow up. This talk I had with my Aunt got my aspirations all shaky again. Law or Medicine? Sciences or the arts?
I wonder if I am up to it in the first place...

Osteoporotic hearts

In the spectrum void of light,
I must watch my words.
Indeterminate and arbituary texts
are my favourite.

In the illegitimate letter written to me,
I have heard you say.
By for the greater good for both of us,
Stopage.
We mustn't delay.

Maybe it was possible,
but the costs have been too high.
Hear!
No more fear,
for us my dear,
It's time we
really

Have a happy new year.

I am beginning to love SL a lot,
okay, other than the fact that I have 2 very adorable children under me,
I find that with each session, these supposedly disadvantaged children are teaching me something new.

It's been a very humbling experience.
A few posts ago saw me bemoaning the noise and chaos in each SL session,
now I begin to find the noise melodious!
Haha, yes yes, that was exaggeration, but as the weeks went by
I started to accept the chaos.
This acceptance then evolved into a certain sort of appreciation.
Imagine... Saying hello to the kids and they all look so dead and lifeless...

These are the pure and innocent minds,
unsoiled by the regularity and order of the world.
Their's is the natural form of human reaction -
the huge, unrestrained guffaws,
the carefree singing aloud,
the careless display of emotions...

Think out of the box...
These children need not be reminded,
I suppose they've never been in a box,
or rather they haven't realised.
Listen to their questions,
they can make you laugh.

This little boy called Wira drew a picture today.
It was really hilarious when he explained the drawing-
He had drew a few people standing in line.
One had tremendously long legs.
When asked why, he simply said
"that one is Yin Hong jiejie!"
That made all of us laugh so hard, and poor Wira was so lost!

When we were about to leave the centre, I dawned upon revelation.

Me: " Have you ever wondered why Wira did not draw long arms, or a long body, or large head for Yin Hong, but only long legs?"

Yin Hong: "Huh? Why?"

Me:" Cos at their level, all they can see are our legs!"

It was so hilarious,
Their innocence can really make you smile...

No man is an island...
No man stands alone,
each man's joy is joy to me,
each man's grieve is my own.

We need one another...
So I will defend,
each man as my brother,
each man as my friend.

Let not what has happened sour your heart, nor embitter your soul.
Sadness denotes want and purpose in endearvour, but anger deems the heart impure.
Let not the bad seeds of bad fruit be sown,
for you shall only live to reap them again.

At the end of the day, it is how much we have served, and not how we have served.
"Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul;
if you find it, there is a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off."

-Proverbs 24:14

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path... ...
When I feel afraid,
think I've lost my way,
still you're there right beside me.
And nothing will I fear,
as long as you are near,
Please be near me till the end...

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path

Thank you for the honour that I shall live to uphold

Finally, finally, my internet connection is up and running...

Talk about running, I hate running.
Hmm, maybe hate is too strong a word?
Okay.
Let me try again:
Talk about runnning, I dislike running,

Or how about:
Talk about running, I don't take to running,

Better yet:
Talk about running, I am aversed to running.

Hahaha, that's me and metafictional writing. I like to go a bit cuckoo once in a while,
but hey I really hate/dislike/don't take to/am aversed to running.
There's something about running that seems to further highlight and bold the fact that we are forever going against the currents.
Maybe that's because I don't get the "runner's high"
Aha! Blame it on my genes,
to me, running is covering distance,
and it does feel as meaningless as that sounds.

So that's that. Cross-country is on CNY, and yes I am so excited about covering distance on CNY! Yay... ... what a great ang bao, it is going to be so fun.

Trying to practise some optimism here, so don't give me that look.

Nothing thrills me more than to speak to you,
Thank you Jolene.
